Belong…we are neurokin is the community supporting late discovered neurodivergent women’s growth in improved self: understanding | compassion | acceptance | confidence |

Many of us have grown up feeling like we’re weird, alien, a misfit or an outsider.

If like me, you’ve spent a lifetime trying to find answers about why it’s so hard to “fit”, about what makes you different, that’s exactly what you’ll get here!

BELONG… we are Neurokin is a community for you if you’re exploring what neurodivergence means for you and how you live your life.

  • Given that information about neurodivergence has been scant for most of our lifetimes, due to narrow research outside of the dominant power groups and a lack of wider understanding of lived experiences.

  • The information that has been heavily relied upon comes from the medical model; laden in deficit based bias and ableism.

  • This means that many of us are discovering our neurodivergence later in life. We’ve grown up not having a large and important piece of information about ourselves and how we naturally communicate, connect and experience the world.

Choosing the way that works best for you

For too long, you’ve lived your life to suit others! living in ways that aren’t in tune with your brain and body. I want you to choose the way that works for you, as you work your way through the emotions and practical questions that come with your own late life discovery;

  • Reading and reflecting, working through the coaching prompts on your own

    • digest content and work through learning prompts when you feel ready

  • I want to create a slower paced reflective space for you to access learning resources at your own pace, to suit what you need right now to answer your questions or change your perspective on an aspect of the “tangle” of neurodivergent discovery you may be struggling with

    • I find social media too noisy and overwhelming! And I’ve been longing to find somewhere that lets me ponder, contemplate and makes me and my nervous system feel calmer

    • I think Substack does that. As a subscriber, to some of my favourite authors, I look forward to the learning and growth they create for me, when I choose (Sunday’s are my favourite day for this…delicious, slow, lounging and pondering = my favourite time of the week!)

  • I also want to create learning experiences where you can be alongside other late discovered neurokin, if you want to feel belonging within the community.

As a professional Coach, with tons of experience of working with many women

  • to help them accept their strengths and remove their blocks

    • accepting and enjoying their own unique creativity

    • no longer functioning in ways they think they ought to

    • helping them to be compassionate to themselves in their struggles

    • opening up a world of possibilities for them when they become unapologetically their true selfs.

You might be curious about what neurodivergence means for you, finding comfort in hearing familiar experiences that deeply resonate and then doubting that this is your truth at all.

That’s ok. There’s a generation of women who have been forced to hide our different ways of experiencing the world and our natural ways of communicating and interacting.

It’s comforting being able to access resources, how and when you want, as you dance between neurokin awareness to self acceptance. This community will give you a choice to be alongside others doing the same.

Questions?

Feel free to ask me for more information about Belong…we are neurokin.

I often have neuro curious women get in touch with me, in private spaces on social media. It’s an honour for me to be maybe the first person they have asked a question to or shared their neurodivergent discovery with.

Often you may be holding lot of questions, doubts and bewildering emotions inside. That can be overwhelming and isolating.

I know the power of that first contact you make when you’re curious about how neurodivergence affects you. It meant the world to me when I was feeling overwhelmed and fearful of what exploring neurodivergence would open up.

I haven’t looked back since 😊

We’re often comfortable to go off in tangents! We understand how it feels to have a dysregulated nervous system, that irritating noise, the lights that are too bright or to feel overwhelmed with anxiety - the horror of rejection sensitivity on loop. It’s a joy to be in the company of neurokin who have alternative ways of seeing ideas’ concepts and problems. Participate in the comments section, or support this work with a subscription.
